Some Delicacies You Can Cook for Your Poodle

It’s always a joy to make a special treat for someone you love, whether that’s fixing your spouse’s favorite dinner, baking cookies for the kids, or making your dog a birthday cake. Yes, dogs like to be tempted with special dishes like everyone else, especially the proud and dignified poodle. Here are a few easy recipes you can cook up for your canine friend.

Chicken Garlic Birthday Cake

No one experienced in the art of poodle care would dare forget his or her dog’s birthday. When that special day rolls around, you’ll want to make a special treat.

You’ll need:

1 chicken bouillon cube
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups wheat germ
½ cup cornmeal
2 eggs
½ cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic (NEVER onion, it’s poisonous to dogs)
2 cups water
Garlic-flavored vegetable oil spray

Dissolve the bouillon cube into warm water. In a separate dish, combine flour, wheat germ, eggs, vegetable oil, and garlic. Stir in the water with the bouillon. Spray two cake pans with vegetable oil and sprinkle with flour. Bake cakes for 50 minutes at 375 degrees. When the cakes are baked, turn them upside down and allow to cool.

Liver Training Treats

Looking for the perfect treat to make your dog sit up, roll over, or do any other thing you want? Seek no further. This treat will make your dog sing grand opera if you like.

You’ll need:

2lbs raw liver
1 egg (include the shell)
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1-2 cups of uncooked oats

Mix the liver, garlic powder, and egg. Slowly add the oats until the mixture achieves a cookie dough like frequency. Grease and flour a baking dish and bake the mixture at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until set. Cut into square pieces and freeze.

High Fiber Biscuits

Why buy dog biscuits when you can make them with this simple recipe?

You’ll need:

½ cup cornmeal
6 tablespoons of olive oil
2/3 cup beef broth
2 cups whole wheat flour

Mix the ingredients together. Roll out dough and use a cookie cutter to make interesting and fun shapes. Bake the biscuits on a greased cookie tray for 35 minutes at 350 degrees, occasionally adding extra beef broth. Allow to cool to room temperature. Then place in airtight bags and store in the refrigerator.

Poodle Jello

This simple, fun recipe will be the highlight of any poodle’s day.

You’ll need:

3 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
1 can of chicken broth

Bring one cup of chicken broth to a slow boil. Place the rest of the broth and the gelatin in a separate bowl, but do not stir yet. Slowly add the boiling broth, stirring gently until the gelatin dissolves. Pour into an 8 x 8 pain and allow to sit in the refrigerator until set. Cut into squares.

Keeping your poodle well fed is only half the challenge of poodle care. An equally big challenge is grooming your poodle.
