Freedom Fighter Radio called the San Marcos Police dept on August 22, 2008 at 5:30 pm est.and spoke with a female dispatcher who was one of 3 on duty she was extremely rude and needs sensitivity training..So despite what the mayor says the San Marcos Police Dept. was arrogant and rude, we publically challenge mayor Susan on her false claims that this Dept is polite

A Texas State University student who waited to get a speeding ticket while his girlfriend's dog died in her arms has filed a formal complaint with the San Marcos police over the Aug. 5 incident.
Krystal Hernandez was holding her ailing teacup poodle, Missy, while her boyfriend, Michael Gonzalez, raced south on Interstate 35 — allegedly hitting 95 mph — toward a 24-hour veterinary clinic in New Braunfels.
After their car was pulled over sometime after midnight, the couple said they were kept waiting for 20 minutes by Officer Paul Stephens before he issued the ticket, despite their desperate pleas.
Police Chief Howard Williams said an internal investigation was begun after Gonzalez complained.

i know firsthand, when they used excessive force on a 48 women arriving to a crime scene.
she was not involved in the crime.
her sole purpose for arriving at the residence of the crime scene was to collect rent money from the owners–who were the ones in trouble.
she was tackled and beaten to the floor.
the woman had to be taken away in an ambulance, thats how bad it was.

The officer states that his actions would be justified if he had had an actual child in the car with him, not "just a dog." Last time I checked, my dogs have always been my children. He could have taken the pooch and the owner to the vet in his patrol car with his sirens and lights on and then ticketed the driver afterwards. He's an idiot for not thinking of that and an for not doing it. A little professionalism, please. Sue that ass!

The police officer should be commended for doing the right thing stopping someone weaving in and out of traffic and going 30 mph over the speed limit.
